Post-release: Tires and Rubber' 2011 International Specialized Exhibition

The 14th Tires and Rubber International Specialized Exhibition held on 1 - 4 March 2011 in Pavilion No. 7 (Halls 3, 4, 5) of Expocentre Fairgrounds came to a successful end. The event was held by Expocentre ZAO.

Tires and Rubber'2011, as well as Interlakokraska'2011, is included in to a large programme of chemical events run by Expocentre.

The Tires and Rubber exhibition, certified by RUEF ¨C the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, was held with the support from the Russian Chemists Union, and under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Moscow City Government.

President of the Russian Chemists Union Viktor Ivanov stressed in this speech at the opening of the exhibition that the event reflected Russia's prominent position in this market. It should contribute a lot to the development of the Russian chemical industry and increased international cooperation.

In his address to the participants Director General of the Research and Development Institute of Elastomeric Materials (NIIEMI) and a member of the International Rubber Conference Organization (IRCO) Sergei Reznichenko pointed out to the widespread popularity of the Tires and Rubber exhibition, which can be accounted for by accelerated development of the rubber and elastomer sector throughout the world. It was a huge market of technologies, products and ideas, and Russia was one of its active players.

This year the show floor of 4,689 sq. m accommodated 149 companies from 17 countries; among them were major Russian and leading foreign manufacturers, which took the advantage of the event to promote their goods to the Russian market.

China put on display its national pavilion.

Many domestic and foreign companies - among which were Khimprom OAO, Ruskhimneft ZAO, Kurskrezinotekhnika ZAO, Evrobaltshina OOO, Tyres and Rubber Trading House, Grodno Khimvolokno OAO, Lanxess, KraussMaffei Berstorff Gmb§¯, VMI Holland, Wacker Chemie AG, Swisstex Winterthur AG and many others - stood out with their innovative and high-quality products.

Tires and Rubber'2011 covered the following sectors: all kinds of tyres; tyre manufacturing technologies and equipment; rubber; raw materials and equipment for rubber production; elastomers and elastomeric composites, rubber products and manufacturing technologies and equipment for them; chemical fibres; technical textile; metal cord; and specialist products including protective clothing.

Over the 4 working days the exhibition welcomed 5,160 visitors, 80% of whom were industry specialists. The total visitor attendance made up 6,800.

The substantial Tires and Rubber'2011 programme of events discussed key challenges and issues of the rubber and tyres industries.

On 2-3 March 2011 the programme of events featured a Rubber, Rubber Goods and Tyres: Established and New Practices Conference. It was organized by NIIEMI OOO, the Lomonosov Moscow State Academy of Fine Chemical Technology and Elastotekhnika-RTI Association, with the assistance of Expocentre Fairgrounds.

The agenda of the conference comprised a number of issues including the current market situation, modern industry development trends considering changing consumer requirements, and resource-efficiency and environmental protection standards, and new export-expansion opportunities.

The reports were delivered by businessmen working in the industry, manufacturers, scholars and researchers, consultants and analysts, operation specialists, experts, industrial and environmental engineers, and many other specialists.

Over the 2 conference days 14 report and 6 presentations were delivered by Russian and German companies including K¨¹ttner Industrieberatungs GmbH (Germany); Rhein Chemie Rheinau GmbH, subunit of LANXESS (Germany); and Kaeler Project OOO, representing Kaeler Holding AG in the Russian market.

The conference was attended by more than 100 delegates from all industry sectors.

The Tires and Rubber'2011 incorporated the 10th international compeition for the Best Elastomeric Materials Award'2011. It was held to encourage domestic production of tyres and rubber and broaden the range of Russian products at the exhibition.

The key objective of the competition was to select and award the most innovative companies of the sector.

The event was organized by Expocentre ZAO and NIIEMI OOO.

The jury meeting was held on 4 March 2011, with industry specialists, scholars and researchers, and other specialists working in related fields involved in it for professional, unbiased and independent assessment of the entries.

The participants included 6 companies, one of which was Belarusian. They submitted 10 entries, and all of them reached the finals.

Seven entries competed in the Rubber Goods category for the Best Rubber Goods Award. Among the companies that submitted the entries were Fosforos OOO (Kazan), Eliz OOO (Vladimir), SOVTECH OOO (Voronezh) and REAM-RTI OOO (Moscow).

Three entries were submitted to the Raw Materials for Rubber, Rubber Goods and Tyre Production Category. They competed for the Best Chemical Additives for Rubber, Tyres and Rubber Goods Award.

At the end of the competition the participants received 6 awards.

The 15th Tires and Rubber exhibition will be held at Expocentre Fairground on 16-19 April 2012.
